Executive Summary Three-quarters of IT executives surveyed in January describe their current environment as understaffed and having to do more with less. Additionally, three-quarters of those surveyed say the stress level in their department is high (57 percent) to very high (19 percent). Application development continues to be the skill most in demand, followed by project management. Fortunately, close to half (49 percent) of those surveyed are currently hiring or will hire in three months. In terms of non-technical capabilities, CIOs listed project management, business skills and communication skills as being most in demand.
