A Superior Court Judge in King County, Wash. has granted a temporary restraining order against at least two companies that allegedly peddled T-Mobile customer records, CNET News.com reports.
Data Find Solutions, 1st Source Information Specialists and related companies and individuals were ordered to cease procurement and sales of T-Mobile customer cell phone records. T-Mobile filed a lawsuit against said companies on Monday.
T-Mobile accused Data Find Solutions and 1st Source of owning or operating websites that dealt in the sale of T-Mobile customer records, like Locatecell.com and Celltolls.com.
The temporary restraining order prohibits the companies from obtaining T-Mobile records in any way, as well as selling this information, even if they had already obtained it.
A preliminary injunction hearing is scheduled for February 24.
