Yesterday, the AARP announced its new CIO. Matt Mitchell starts his new job with the lobbying group on April 10. Mitchell most recently served as VP and CIO for graphic design firm Cenveo, which hired a new CIO in January. He replaces John Sullivan, who left the AARP in August.

Charles River Laboratories hired Nicholas Ventresca as its corporate senior vice president of information technology and CIO. Ventresca begins his new job with the Wilmington, Mass.-based drug discovery company on Monday, April 3, 2006. He most recently worked for Pfizer as a vice president responsible for portfolio management and organizational effectiveness. Prior to Pfizer, he was CIO of Warner-Lambert’s Schick & Wilkinson Sword group and CTO of Pepsi-Cola International.
Jason Pierson joined Contexo Media as its CIO. Among his new responsibilities: managing the creation and implementation of an automated publishing system. Prior to Contexo, Pierson was the VP of software development for Ingenix, a division of United Health Group.
