    Ayman Essmat is an experienced IT leader and current chief information officer for Eurobodalla Shire Council, with nearly 30 years of experience in enterprise technology across the public and private sectors. His career spans technical, operational and executive roles, with expertise in aligning IT strategy with business goals, enabling data-driven decision-making and strengthening cybersecurity and governance in complex, regulated environments. Ayman began his IT career in the Middle East and North Africa, building deep technical foundations before advancing into leadership roles in Australia. He has led large-scale cultural and organizational change programs within digitally enabled environments across diverse industries, including government, healthcare, telecommunications and oil & gas. He holds a master’s degree in financial technology and maintains a continuously updated perspective on emerging technologies and enterprise strategy through active engagement with global professional communities.
