Motorola, the world’s second-largest producer of mobile phones, on Tuesday said it would purchase Broadbus Technologies, a firm that develops video-on-demand technologies for use with various devices (VOD), for an undisclosed amount, Reuters reports.
Motorola expects the deal to close sometime during the third quarter of 2006, though it must first be approved by regulators, according to Reuters.
The cell phone handset producer claims the buy would better position it to meet the increased demand for mobile VOD and digital recording technologies, Reuters reports.
