BaseTen is a new, open-source Cocoa database framework for working with PostgreSQL databases. BaseTen has been designed with familiar, Core Data-like semantics and application program interfaces. To get the word out about the development environment, and to build a library of applications that show off its capabilities, BaseTen is running a competition for the coolest OSS app for its framework.
The developer who writes the best application, says the BaseTen website, will win a Core 2 Duo MacBook. The entry should be a Universal Binary and work on Mac OS X 10.4.8 with a standard PostgreSQL 8.1.5 installation.
The deadline is Jan. 31, 2007, though the organizers are contemplating moving back the deadline by a month.
